Any suggestions on how to remove acrylic nails,I hear it is very painful to have them removed in the salon;I have tried soaking them in nail polish remover and that only softened them. Any suggestions?
Acrylic nails wont come off with nail polish remover...it needs to be acetate/tone..it will take about 20-30 mins....dont use a plastic dish either,it will melt...it needs to be glass..if you put the glass bowl in a bigger bowl filled with warm water (being careful not to submerge the acetate) it will speed up the removal..when they are soft enough flick them off with a wood stick. Your nails will be in quite bad condition, so, an olive oil soak will help restore them
you must saok them in acetone for about 30 minutes then try to gentky peel them off, the safest way is to let them grow out just keep filing the acrylic ONLY
Next time try this product
Having nails removed in a salon should NOT be painful! A reputable salon will soak them off in pure acetone and then rehydrate your nails with a manicure. Your nails should not be damaged underneath, either. Maybe you need a new salon
soak a cotton wool bud in pure acetone, place it over the nail and wrap it up in aluminium foil. leave for 10 - 15 minutes then with an orange wood stick or wooden scewer, start to scrape away the acrylic. you will notice it has become very soft, and should come away easily. this method is absolutely pain free and will not damage the natural nail in any way
Go buy pure acetone and either soak them in a bowl or take a cotton ball dip it in acetone then rap it with tin foil, keep on 15 min. should take them right off...
You are doing the right thing soak them in acetone nail polish remover. You will have to soak them for a least an hour. Check nails every few minutes and push off top layer of the soft acrylic when you can.
Removing acrylic nails can be painful if not done correctly. It can lead to damage of the natural nail by removing layers of the nail making them thin. To remove them find out what product was used to place on the acrylic set. Acetone will wor, but keep in mind do not pry them off with anything or lift product away from the nail. Depending on how long you have had them on the longer they need to be soaked. After soaking apply a moisturizer and moisturize every day after for a period of 28 days twice a day. Your nails will need approximately 3 to 6 months of treatment to correct any damage that has been created by the acrylics. buy some pure acetone. soak your nails in pure acetone for about 20 minutes. use a wooden spoon to scoop the acrylic off. it should come off real easy. if you notice some left on there, soak your nails again until you see it all come off.
cut your nails back & gently buff the surface then soak in acetone. This will take around 30 minutes.
Alternatively go to a salon and get them to soak the 'nails' off.
Saturate cotton with pure acetone. Wrap the saturated cotton around nails and then wrap foil over the cotton. The acetone will dissolve the acrylic. It may take 15 minutes or longer. Hope I was of some help.
