Seasonal Cosmetics at Every Counter

If you want to smell like candy canes, gingerbread, or pine trees, you can always immerse yourself within these things. I’ve never bathed with candy canes myself, but I’m sure it would be interesting. Of course, if you’d like to do something easier—and perhaps less sticky—you could simply take advantage of the seasonal fragrances and cosmetics you can find at just about every cosmetics counter right now.

One of my favorite places to purchase cosmetics, The Body Shop, has plenty of body shimmers, smoothers, scrubs, butters, glazes, and pretty much anything else you could swathe all over your body with. Their holiday scents include Merry Cranberry and Nutmeg and Vanilla.

Not to be outdone, Bath & Body Works has plenty of seasonal scents, too. Get your winter fix with various candles, body lotion, shower gel, room spray, fragrance oil, and shimmer splash. Choose from these flavors and more: Winter, Winter Candy Apple, Tree, Vanilla Bean Noel, and Twisted Peppermint.

Avon has holiday everything, from bath paint to shower gel to hand crème to lip gloss. Some choices include Cinnamon Spice, Frosted Cookie, Wintermint, Candy Cane, Black Cherry & Nutmeg, and Sugar & Walnut.

Though not fragranced with sugar plums, Sephora also has plenty of holiday deals right now, including lip gloss specials and combination sets. Of course, if you want to get someone a jumbo set of makeup, you could go with Estee Lauder’s 2009 Color Spectacular Holiday Gift Set—or, for a similar price and greater value, the eyes lips face Master Set. e.l.f. also has plenty of holiday themed items, including Sugar Cookie, Candy Cane, Sugar Plum, Chocolate Mint and several other flavors.

Of course, if you aren’t interested remotely in making yourself smell like a baked good but you’d still like to make your home smell heavenly, try one of these ideas:

Bake cookies. Then you can actually have a product to share for Christmas gifts!

Use essential oils: There’s nothing more holiday-ish for me than apple cinnamon or peppermint oil. Use a diffuser ring or pot, boil it on the stove, or refresh potpourri. We like to dress our fall and winter broomsticks with apple cinnamon oil, for example.

Use a room spray. Some room sprays aren’t very safe, so you may want to skip them; but if you plan to use one anyway, why not go with a holiday scent?
